Day 22 – A mixture
We had a low key day today. We were trying to use the food we had so our breakfast was a bit unusual. Kim made guacamole from the HUGE avacodo to put with chips and fruit. Later we walked to the store in the rain!
Lanie was a delight today!!!! She and Alli had a fun time together. She is learning appropriate ways to deal with frustrations and desires. I saw progress!!!!! Thank you Lord!!!!
I cleaned out stuff in preparation for Alli and Kim going home and taking items with them. I can’t believe it is already time for my sister and Alli to go home tomorrow. I will be very very very sad to see them leave. I know it might be good to have 100% of my time focused on Lanie for a while, but it will be sad and lonely as well.
Stephanie and the boys came over last night for one last visit. They played and we talked. The boys were told yesterday afternoon
that Stephanie would not be adopting them so it was a mixture of fun and sadness. Scott Skyped with them as well. They will be picked up Thurs. am to go to a new foster home. Stephanie will leave for the US Friday. 🙁
I was told I would probably be in Manizales until at least middle of next week. After Manizales it’s a week or more in Bogota. I’m sure it will be a good bonding time for Lanie and I, but I am REALLY looking forward to getting home.
