I’ve been here 30 days now. The first 23 were anywhere from great to ok along with several being quite “challenging”. Now I’m just trying to finish out another day in hopes of the judge signing our papers. I can’t recall a time when I constantly wanted time to pass by as I tried to figure out what to do next. I’m always racing the clock. I think I’m better at racing the clock. Supposedly the judge has to sign by next Tues. But then others have to sIgn after that. I’m beginning to feel like a prisoner here. Everyone is still very nice, but I want to be home with my family and friends.
Lanie had a good day. It’s unfortunate that her mom is loosing energy to play with her.
For those that wonder what we do all day, here is our routine. It’s not that exciting, but read if you’d like:
- Stay in bed until 8 am because Lanie only sleeps when I’m in the room and she needs her sleep. This may sound wonderful to many, however, I’m an early morning person so this is difficult for me to lay awake for hours in bed. I hide my iPad under the covers and can sort of do stuff… kind of…
- Awake
- Play giggle games, tickle and hide and seek
- Make Beds
- Lanie likes to help make eggs and breakfast
- Eat fruit and eggs for breakfast
- Mom does dishes while Lanie still eats (she’s a very slow eater)
- sweep apartment, clean baths etc. Lanie likes to help. 🙂
- Dance and sing preschool songs
- Do a 20 min. Dance aerobics and another 10 min. Stretch and flex routine from youtube
- get ready for the day while Lanie does puzzles
- Educational games and activities together including English games for about an hour
- snack
- Bring out a special art project or game
- Maybe Skype someone in US
- 1:15 – Lunch – sandwiches, fruit and chips
- 2:00 – go somewhere… Anywhere… Shopping or the park are frequents
- 4:30 or 5 – home again to play games or figure out something to do – maybe Skype someone like Daddy if available – maybe attempt a video although Lanie doesn’t stay still long enough to watch a video so that’s never been successful yet.
- 6:30 – start dinner (nothing gourmet… I haven’t gained kitchen skills… There is only s stove top and no oven so obviously I have to sick with meals like pasta, baked or microwaved potatoes and left overs from the days we did eat out!)
- 7:30 – bath, read books
- 8pm – Lanie to sleep/ I stay in room usually not able to leave or else there are fearful screams, but for 2 nights I got to sneak out for a while … I am starting to wean her off of me these two nights now that she feels more secure with me.
- Mommy on computer in bed time … Then I sleep…
That’s the overwhelmingly excited day. It may sound similar to many mom’s schedule except in thier own home with things and friends to play wiht. It’s not quite my style, but its what we are doing for now and likely for a while.
Hoping the judge finds his pen and signs our papers!
