I guess the judge found his pen because he has signed our papers!!! Not only that, but the Attorney General and the Family Defender have signed them as well. I suspect the judge signed them earlier this week and no one bothered to tell me that. :-(. Regardelss, we are very happy now! My agency and attorney have put together a plan to try and get us out of here as quick as possible. If all goes well (cough, cough – nothing has gone as planned in this process so if the next two weeks do I’ll be suprised)… Anyways… the hopeful plan is that I would sign the papers next Thurs. (I have to wait 3 business days for the official signature to be in forced before I can sign). At that time Lanie will be officially our daughter. Her new name will be Lanie Hope Mandeville Sullivan. In Colombia kids take both parents last names as theirs. I like that. 🙂 Then Lanie and I should be on a 5am flight to Bogata next Friday am to start medical test, clearances, meeting with the Embassy, visa applications etc. The hope is for us to be flying to the US by July 13. That is still two weeks away, but there is an end in sight. Thank you Lord…
Alli
Alli returned home from camp today and I got to Skype with her. This mama doesn’t like being away from her kid and I especially don’t like not getting to talk with her for 5 days! It was sooooooooo good to talk with her. She had a good time, but she missed us a lot too. Talking with her was wonderful. Hanging up the Skype was not. I miss my girl, Scott and everyone else. Thankfully about an hour later I got the email about our paperwork being signed.
Our latest little adventures
I commissioned a painting to be done by a local artist of some of the beauty here. Its a simple painting and very low cost. I’m hoping it turns out well since I tried to communicate with the artist in Spanish! We used a lot of hand gestures, drew things, pointed to other paintings in his studio and the like. It was an adventure shall we say. You know I ordered chicken nuggets and got huge baskets of chicken wings so who knows how this painting will turn out! I always like art to have a story behind it and this one will have. I pick it up tomorrow. I ordered it earlier in the week.
