Still on standby

We are still “on standby”.  The FBI called Thursday in the middle of my class.  That was funny since my class is titled “2nd and 3rd grade Investigators”  I yelled, “Class it’s the FBI.  I have to take this call.”  They thought I was joking!  The FBI has approved my fingerprints (was there any question?) and I will have my FBI clearance today.  Now we are simply waiting on Colombia to issue the final Article 5 document.  I’m told it’s taking longer than typical.   However, the reality is the timing may be just perfect.  I was able to finish out my school year.  Hopefully I’ll have a week to unpack my school stuff into the house again and prepare for our long stay in Colombia.  The planner in me likes to know what will happen and when.  That doesn’t happen in the world of adoption.  Instead, I’m learning more and more to take one day at a time and know that God holds the future and I can trust Him with it.  Surely we’ll be leaving in the next couple of weeks?
