Hopefully we just spent our last Saturday in Manizales! The count down for home has finally begun! I thought about atarting to pack, but maybe that’s a bit lremature. We spent the afternoon with our hosts and the other adoption family Visiting a nearby town and coffee farm. It was very nice. Vilma and I spoke EnglishSpanish a lot! Always fun! I’m going to have to keep up my Spanish and improve a lot to keep up my new friendships here.
I know I’ve been here too long because…
- I look forward to doing dishes because it will take up time. I even save dirty dishes until the morning so that I’ll have more to do then. It’s like saving your favorite dessert to eat later.
- When Lanie broke the coffee pot we put flowers in, I was a bit excited because that means we have to walk to the Homcenter and buy a new one. That could be the day’s big adventure.
- i am considering a full apartment mop and Spring cleaning For the fun of it. Lanie loves to clean …it could be another big adventure.
- We often leave the apartment with no idea where we will go. We just start walking… Anywhere!
- The 70 degrees weather and beauty of this place begins to pale in comparison to the relationonships back home in the 104 degrees, flat, ugly place we call home.
- For a split second I thought about applying to work at the fast food ( that is really slow food because it takes so long) place in order to pass the time. Surely they would hire a no. Spanish speaking person and her small sue chef?
My Painting
I went by and picked up my painting as well. It was pretty good. A few things did get lost in the translation, but overall it’s ok. I might add my own touches to it to make it great! The artist is a very nice guy. The canvas are a bit taller than my suitcase so… Umm… I’m not sure how I’ll be getting them home, but I’m sure I’ll figure it out. I’ve learned to be quite the Magivere here so I’ll IMO,event those skills for the challenge.
