When asked, “How are you?” An old friend of mine would always reply “One day closer to paradise”. Well… I can’t say Texas is paradise, but it sure does contain a lot of people I love so today I’m one day closer to being there!
God is daily confirming his purpose in delaying us here in Manizales. Lanie and I are bonding. She spent two weeks yelling, kicking, pinching and screaming at me because she was fearful and insecure in her new world and she was testing the boundaries wanting to be in full control, but now she is gaining security and learning I love her and will take care of her, but I am the boss. Therefore, she spends most (not all though :-)) of her time laughing, smiling, being silly and giving me loads of hugs and kisses. Our host family said she’s probably one of the happiest, most smiling kids they’ve seen. She will crack you up! I get to post pictures of her Thurs. when the adoption is final!
Now for the very sad news… I passed a place that has my favorite chocolate bar… Milky Way Dark. Ive been craving some good chocolate for a long time now. However, I had to make a decision. I could get the chocolafe, but I would have to get something for Lanie as well. I mean, it would be rude to get myself chocolate and not get her a treat at this dessert stand. That would mean giving my energizer bunny sugar which probably isn’t a good thing. The ice cream we get is really sugar free yogurt! So… I chose no chocolate. It was heart wrenching, but I’ll survive.
