We’re home! Typing little words just can’t quite convey the emotion I feel with those words! We’re with Scott, Alli, our family, friends and my mac book pro! I’m typing on it now!!! I’ve missed you all so very much!
It was a VERY VERY long day. I awoke at 4am and left at 5am for the airport. One of the airline officials questioned our paperwork saying a date was incorrect that could mean we couldn’t leave. Mauricio “passionately” helped explain that this date was correct. We finally made it through everything and onto the plane. Then the plane sat on the tarmack for TWO HOURS for mechanical issues. Our delay caused us to miss the next flight from Miami to Dallas. We got on a later flight two hours later only to again sit on the tarmack for an additional 1.5 hours due to bad weather. We finally landed at 9pm exhausted, but very happy to be home.
I squeezed my Scott and Alli tight when I finally got to see them. Oh there just aren’t words to express the joy of being home. We were greeted by some awsome friends with posters, balloons and lots of kids. Lanie of course LOVED the kids! She bounced right up to them all happy to see everyone.
Anytime one returns from oversees there are many things you see differently. I love Colombia. It’s a great place to be (with your family). Once arriving back here my van seemed enormous, our house is like a castle, but I still got to hug and kiss on lots of people so all is good! Lanie was like a kid in a candy store walking around the house. She was loving it all. Bedtime was a bit sad and probably scary for her, but overall she did well.
So today we start our new life. I attempt to drive again although I think the whole idea of having a driver who goes everywhere with you and assists you in all ways is pretty cool. It probably won’t make the budget though so I’ll just have to go back to the real world here.
I got to read and snuggle with Alli last night. Life is so very good.
I’ll post pictures later.
