Visas

“Adoption is not for the faint of heart” is what one person told me long ago.  I’d have to agree.  This process is such a roller coaster.  Ups – Downs – Obstacles – Delays – Crazy things that happen!  Thankfully God continues to pave the way and overcome the challenges.  Getting our Visas this week was a bit crazy!  I planned to leave very early Monday morning for Houston to apply for our visas.  We had a document that had to be translated to Spanish and notorized which delayed my departure.  Yesterday at 8:30am I arrived at the Colombian consulate in Houston to learn there were additional issues with the paperwork.   It went from “Oh my goodness! How in the world can we have the new documents they need (and just recently are requiring) in time”  to … me getting the documents and having the sweet lady at the consulate office expedite the visas so they would be ready for me to pick up today!  I just got home with our visas!

While getting visas was a bit crazy, it was fun to get to hang with my creative friend, Lisa and see my aunt and Grandma while in Houston as well.

In addition, FBI clearances came Monday and are now sent off to Washington to get apostilled.  We are hoping they’ll be back Friday in time for travel.  This process is CRAZY!  Now it’s back to packing up for a month, preparing for Lanie to come and learning more Spanish!  Oh ya… I also have to take Defensive Driving!
